Musique Minière – De la pierre-ressource à la pierre-création/partie 1 Marasme

Musique minière is an exploration of stones. Raw, mineral, and long reduced to their mere market value, they’re now reimagined as sources of creativity, freed from economic constraints

Taken from quarries and markets, they transcend being simple resources, becoming artistic materials imbued with meaning and energy beyond calculation and transaction.

Musique minière makes them resonate, vibrate, and sing. The stones become instruments, voices, and memory. They’re no longer fragments of underground wealth but embody vitality, tension, and collective memory, reflecting both physical weariness and imaginative power.

This transition from stone-as-resource to stone-as-creation underscores that art itself is priceless, valued not by carats or money but by the force it unleashes, the memories it preserves, and the dialogues it fosters.

Musique minière aims to turn the hardest materials into a sensory language, where stone becomes sound and sound transforms into matter. Together, they forge a transmodern aesthetic, where economic values give way to creative expression, and art becomes a vessel for memory, ritual, and vital energy.
