Sandra MUJINGA

Democratic Republic of the Congo / Norway
Based in Norway

Sandra Munjinga is a Norwegian artist and musician born in 1989 in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, who lives in Oslo. Her work spans installation, sculpture, performance, text, and digital media, examining themes like visibility and opacity, self-representation, and surveillance politics. She is deeply interested in traces and concealment—what remains, haunts, or disappears—and in how bodies are remembered. Munjinga often imagines creatures from the past, inspired by fossils, and from the future, creating ghostly beings that challenge fixed identities. Influenced by science fiction, Afrofuturism, and post-human theories, she envisions worlds where technology, humans, and animals merge through speculative and political acts of transformation.
