Magellan Kahozi, born Moto Kalunga Magellan, is a flexible filmmaker and director from Lubumbashi, Congo. From a young age, he developed interests in comics and music, later refining his skills in filmmaking, videography, and sound design at DL Multimédia. 

He gained recognition for his horror short film Kapinga Marie Thérèse, which won the Best Short Film at the 2025 Paradoxe Film Festival. His film Remède, examining faith challenges in Christianity, was selected for the African Film Festival in Kinshasa and premiered in Lubumbashi on June 28, 2025. 

Additionally, he co-directed Kubaka Lubako, a documentary produced by the MARKK Museum in Germany, revealed during Stéphane Kabila’s Kuba exhibition in March 2025. His other socially impactful documentaries include Un Crayon pour Grandir, L’orphelinat Bulaya, and Je suis Handi. 

Apart from filmmaking, Magellan engages with theater through workshops and plays, and composes instrumental music for shows like Le Lac de Djo Ngeleka. He collaborates with various cultural figures such as Djo Ngeleka, Stéphane Kabila, David Duglas Masamuna, Joseph Kasau, Kevin Kabambi, and Christian Nyampeta, promoting an inclusive artistic vision that highlights African myths and legends.
