Christian Kabeya, known as Kabel (born December 9, 1995, in Kinshasa), is a versatile artist and performer from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He splits his time between Lubumbashi and Kinshasa and holds a degree in Visual Arts and Visual Communication from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. His work merges sculpture, installation, photography, and performance, emphasizing the reuse of discarded materials and examining the political importance of the body in public spaces.

Since 2018, Kabel has taken part in many projects across the DRC, including the KinAct International Festival as both photographer and performer. In 2020, he delivered a socially conscious performance marking the 60th anniversary of DRC’s independence and was featured in an exhibition celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts.

His notable credentials include participation in the Yango 2 Biennial, Artembo 5 Festival, and Lubumbashi Arts Fair (TAYARI) in 2025. He has also contributed to initiatives at Picha Art & Research Center, Biasasa Art Center, and Lubumbashi Institute of Fine Arts, supported by Africalia and Enabel, and is involved in the Paradoxe Films Festival.
